    About the Porsche 944:

The Porsche 944 was in production from 1982 until 1991. During this period, the company produced 163,192 Porsche 944s. The popular sports car was offered both as a coupe and cabriolet in turbocharged and aspirated models. The 944 made Car and Driver's Ten Best list from 1983-1985, while the Porsche 944 Turbo made the list in 1986.

In 1985, Porsche 944 parts went through some substantial changes. The original 944 wheels were upgraded to phone dial wheels, the alternator went from a 90 amp to a 115 amp, and there were improvements to the mounting of the transaxle to reduce vibration and noise. Other modifications to Porsche 944 parts included a new dash, new door panels, an increased oil sump capacity, rear and front cast alloy control arms, a larger fuel tank and options for heated and powered seats. The Porsche 944 models that were produced in 1985, with the upgrades, are often referred to as 1985 1/2 cars or 1985B versions.

The Porsche 944 Turbo was originally introduced in 1985. Porsche 944 Turbo parts were upgraded to include a stronger gearbox, improved aerodynamics, a standard transmission oil cooler, upgraded suspension and wider wheels. This high performance variant of the 944 held the first ceramic portliner to retain exhaust gas temperature. In what was to be the third and final evolution of the model in 1990, engineers realized that a large number of Porsche 944 Turbo parts were going to be modified. Rather than overhaul the 944 again, the Porsche 968 was created to replace it.

Porsche 944 Rebuilt Lower Control Arms (1985 1/2-1991)

Porsche 944 Lower Control Arms, from the factory, were prone to premature ball joint failure.  After years of R&D we have developed a bullet proof solution.  We machine and hone the control arm to accept a larger, beefier ball joint.  We then thoroughly clean and inspect the arms to be free of cracks, irregularities and blemishes.  We are so confident in our product that we offer a full 24 month warranty.  We are the only company in the industry to offer such a warranty!

Porsche 944 Impulse Flywheel Reference Mark Sensor

The Flywheel sensor measures the speed in which the flywheel is turning.  This information is then sent to the ECU/DME unit where it is used to make the needed adjustments to make the car run correctly.  A faulty flywheel sensor can cause the car to run rough, or not run at all.  The Porsche 944 requires 2 Sensors and it is recommended that they both be replaced at the same time. We stock OEM Bosch units.
