'97 - '99 Porsche Boxster 2.5L Rebuilt Cylinder Head - Cylinders 1-3

Each cylinder head core is disassembled and inspected for broken bolts, stripped thread holes and broken mounting holes, etc.
All heads go through a three-step cleaning process which includes:

1. Passing through a high temperature oven.

2. Professionally bead blasted.

3. Placed in a non-caustic hot tank.

The head is then inspected for cracks and pressure tested. Cam bores are checked for spec and honed if needed.

NOTE: No major welding work is ever done

The machining process includes:

• Inspect valve guide bores using a dial bore gauge and repair where needed.

• New Phosphorous Bronze Valve Guides & Valve Stem Seals are installed.

• All valve seats utilize a three angle process for maximum precision.

• The valves are inspected for stem and valve face damage/wear, straightness and are replaced as needed.

• All valves are hand ground .

• Thoroughly inspect and test all of the valve springs for proper tension/resistance and replaced as needed.

• All head surfaces are machined (milled), not ground!




Final cleaning and assembly includes:

1. Cleaning all heads in a solvent based tank.

2. Brushed down to remove any remaining contaminants.

3. Heads are run through a detergent based hot tank before assembly.

4. Professional and Expert Porsche Specialists will assembly the heads.












***Important Core Return Policy - Please Read***

A Core deposit is required on rebuilt parts to encourage you to return your original old part so that it can be rebuilt. Core deposits on some parts are very high because they are irreplaceable - if these cores are not returned, there may no longer be any available for rebuild in the future. Cores returned for credit must be accompanied by a copy of your invoice, and it must be exactly the same part as the one you received, complete and assembled, empty of fluids and reasonably clean. All cores must be free of any physical or accident damage, modifications or any other damage outside of normal wear-and-tear that may deem the core non-rebuildable. Any unacceptable core returned to Vertex will not be credited, nor will any shipping costs both inbound and outbound.
